Why Label Transparency Matters
If you've spent any time researching supplements in the UK, you've encountered the term "proprietary blend." It refers to the industry practice of listing multiple ingredients together with only a total combined weight — typically something like "Metabolism Blend: 850mg (Green Tea Extract, Garcinia, Caffeine, Chromium)." The customer has no idea how much of each ingredient is actually present.
This is not just an inconvenience. It is the single biggest tool used by underperforming supplements to hide the fact that they contain clinically insignificant doses. A product might advertise a famous ingredient prominently, then include only 5mg of it (well below any therapeutic dose) hidden inside a 500mg blend dominated by cheap filler.
Gelatine Sculpt™ uses no proprietary blends. Every active ingredient is listed individually with its exact dose. Every single milligram is accounted for. You can verify that every compound is present at the dose used in published clinical research.
The Full Active Ingredient Panel
Per 2ml daily dose (2 droppers):
| Ingredient | Per Daily Dose | Standardisation | Clinical Threshold |
|---|---|---|---|
| Berberine HCl (Berberis aristata) | 500mg | 97% purity | 500mg ✓ |
| Pure Gelatine (Type A, bovine) | 400mg | Pharmaceutical grade | 300mg+ ✓ |
| Green Tea Extract (Camellia sinensis) | 300mg | 50% EGCG | 250mg+ ✓ |
| Turmeric Extract (Curcuma longa) | 200mg | 95% curcuminoids | 200mg+ ✓ |
Total active compounds per daily dose: 1,400mg. Each ingredient meets or exceeds the dose used in the peer-reviewed clinical studies that justify our claims. There is no padding, no filler, and no proprietary masking.
Why These Specific Doses?
Berberine 500mg
The clinical literature on Berberine consistently uses 500mg either once daily or three times daily (1,500mg total). At a once-daily 500mg dose taken in the morning, sustained-release effects last 18–24 hours. Doses below 300mg show diminishing returns in studies. We hit the upper end of the once-daily window.
Pure Gelatine 400mg
The 400mg dose serves two roles: an active satiety effect via glycine content (clinical studies showing GLP-1 stimulation at 250mg+) and a structural role as the carrier matrix for the other three compounds. The 400mg quantity is the optimal balance between effect and absorption.
Green Tea Extract 300mg (50% EGCG = 150mg EGCG)
The thermogenic and GLP-1 effects of EGCG begin at approximately 100mg of pure EGCG per dose. Our 150mg EGCG sits comfortably above this threshold while remaining well below the 800mg/day ceiling associated with rare hepatic concerns in case reports.
Turmeric Extract 200mg (95% curcuminoids = 190mg)
Curcumin's anti-inflammatory and metabolic effects begin at approximately 100mg per dose. Our 190mg-of-curcuminoids dosage provides a meaningful clinical effect while pairing with the gelatine matrix that improves curcumin's notoriously poor bioavailability by approximately 7x. The result is an effective curcumin dose without requiring the 1,000mg+ amounts often seen in less-bioavailable formulations.

Comparison with Typical UK Supplement Labels
To illustrate the difference, here's what a typical UK weight-loss supplement label looks like:
"FatBurn Blend™: 750mg (Green Tea Extract, Caffeine Anhydrous, L-Carnitine, Chromium Picolinate, Garcinia Cambogia, African Mango Seed Extract)"
You have no idea how much of any single ingredient is present. The "Green Tea Extract" might be 50mg or 600mg — there's no way to know without contacting the manufacturer (and typically no response when you do).
Compare with our equivalent:
"Active Ingredients: Berberine HCl 500mg (97% pure), Pure Gelatine 400mg, Green Tea Extract 300mg (50% EGCG), Turmeric Extract 200mg (95% curcuminoids)"
Every number visible. Every amount verifiable. You can read peer-reviewed literature on any of these doses and confirm they meet clinical thresholds.
Standardisation — The Other Hidden Detail
Beyond ingredient names and weights, the third critical label detail is standardisation. This is the percentage of active compound within an extract.
Consider Turmeric: ordinary turmeric powder contains only 2–5% curcuminoids (the active compound). Many supplement labels say "Turmeric 500mg" without specifying standardisation — meaning you might be getting only 10–25mg of actual curcuminoids. Our label states "Turmeric Extract 200mg (95% curcuminoids)" — meaning 190mg of true curcuminoids per dose.
The same applies to all four of our ingredients. We state both the extract weight and the percentage of active compound, so you can calculate exactly what you're getting.
How to Read Any Supplement Label
If this page is useful for evaluating us, it can also be used to evaluate any other supplement you're considering. Three rules:
- If you see "proprietary blend" or "complex," be sceptical. It usually means clinically inadequate doses are hidden in the mix.
- Check for standardisation. "Turmeric Extract" alone is meaningless without the percentage of curcuminoids. Same for green tea (% EGCG), berberine (% purity), etc.
- Look up the clinical doses. If the listed dose is well below what published studies use, the product is unlikely to produce the advertised effects.
Where to Verify Our Label Claims
Beyond what we publish here, every batch of Gelatine Sculpt™ is independently tested by a UKAS-accredited laboratory. The Certificate of Analysis (COA) for any specific batch number is available on request — email support@gelatinesculpt.co.uk with the batch number from the bottom of your bottle.
The COA documents:
- Measured concentrations of Berberine, EGCG, curcuminoids, and gelatine
- Heavy metal screening
- Microbial contamination tests
- Pesticide residue tests
- Confirmation that the label values match the actual contents
Quality Documentation
Full information about manufacturing standards, sourcing, and quality controls is on our quality standards page. The TL;DR: GMP-certified UK manufacturer, MHRA-registered facility, third-party testing on every batch, full traceability to source farms and suppliers.
